How Does Aurogra Work?

Sildenafil 100 mg, the active compound of Aurogra, is a  phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor. 

In the presence of sexual stimulation, Aurgra helps in Nitropic oxide (NO) secretion. This helps accumulate cGMP (cyclic guanosine monophosphate) levels [11]. The cGMP helps regulate the activity of calcium channels along with intracellular contractile proteins that affect the relaxation of the corpus cavernosum smooth muscle of the penile region [12]. This helps improve blood flow into the penis, thus achieving an erection. 

Is Aurogra 100 Safe?

Clinical trials show that the most common side effects of Aurogra are indigestion, headache, nasal congestion, flushing, and blurry vision. Reports of users experiencing cyanopsia (seeing everything in tinted blue) are also noted [13]. It is mainly caused because Sildenafil, even a PDE5 inhibitor, has a minor level of selectivity for PDE6 (phosphodiesterase of the retina). 

In July 2005, the FDA found that Aurogra can cause vision impairment in rare cases [14]. Several studies also link the use of the ED pill with non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy ( loss of vision caused by damage to the optic nerve) [15,16].

Rare but severe side effects of taking Aurogra 100 mg include severe low blood pressure, prolonged erections, increased intraocular pressure, myocardial infarction (heart attack), sudden hearing loss, stroke, and ventricular arrhythmias [17]. 

Contraindications

The use of Aurogra or Sildenafil 100 mg is contraindicated under the following conditions:

• Nitrates- Taking Sildenafil or its brand drugs (Aurogra 100mg) is contraindicated in patients taking Nitrates. Interaction between these compounds may cause life-threatening hypotension [18].

• Hypersensitivity Reactions-Patients with a known hypersensitivity to Aurogra or its active compound, Sildenafil, may result in urticaria and rash [17]. 

• Concomitant Guanylate Cyclase (GC) Stimulators- The hypotensive effects of GC stimulators, such as riociguat, can elevate when taken in conjugation with Sildenafil or Aurogra 100mg.
